Please backup anything important to you....now!

The simplest thing you can do to prevent heartache for yourself is to back up your personal files.  Far too often people wait until after a disaster happens to think about backing up.  After you get a virus or after your hard drive dies is too late.  Even the best tech guys will have an extremely difficult time recovering your files after the fact.  Furthermore, even if we can, we will charge you more due to the time and trouble.  This comes from my day of hell yesterday from a customer who had some important information on her hard drive.  After recovering her system, it initially appeared that some files were not reovered.  After some nasty text messages (none from me), I decided to write this entry.  I did find the files that she was seeking, but wanted to pass on the cautionary tale to all.  PLEASE back up what is important to you regularly.  If you are unsure of how to do it, check out my articles on the subject under the Back it Up link under the Taking Care of Your PC section on the left side of this page.
