Apple iTunes Match open for business

The much anticipated iTunes match service is up and running.  What is it?  Well, if you have an iTunes account, with this service, it will scan your music collection and give you access to the same songs through iCloud.  iCloud is Apple's new cloud online storage service.  The benefit is that you no longer have to carry your whole collection with you, as long as your device has network connectivity, you can listen to anything you own.  Even if the music is music you did not buy, you can pay $24.99 a year and iTunes will match everything you own, whether you purchased it legally or illegally.  For all the old Napster alumni, this is your safe haven!

Firefox 8 now available

As they indicated with the release schedule, Mozilla has released Firefox 8/  If you are running Firefox 7, you probably have been updated by now.  You will not notice much new with this release.  One thing you may notice is that upon starting for the first time, Firefox 8 disables all of your extensions.  You must go in an enable them yourself.  The purpose of this is to increase the startup time of the browser.  If you have to go in and enable your extensions, it also gives you an opportunity to rid yourself of those you no longer use anymore.  Firefox is available here.

Cool site for all of us on the run.  No time to sit and watch a favorite movie?, listen to it instead.  Head on over to www.listentoamovie.com and you can download the mp3 file of many popular movies to listen to when you don't have time to watch.  Think about it, for many of our favorite movies, the dialogue is better than the visual anyway (Pulp Fiction comes to mind for me).  The site is free, although donations are greatly appreciated.  You won't find the latest movies that are currently out, but you will find many favorites over the years.  Happy listening!
